Hi guys!

I want to buy the gaming rig below by mid of octobre at the least, mostly to play Arma III and in the future DayZ Standalone. I am unsure wether I should wait for the new Volcanic Islands to buy the Radeon HD 7870/7950 successor or to go with the Sapphire 7870 XT/Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X in early octobre. I also thought about getting the Asus GTX 760 DC2OC instead because I don’t want the „now-i-have-an-outdated-vid“-feeling so shortly after buying a new rig once Volcanic Islands will hit the scene. Any suggestions on these thoughts or for my build in general?

I am also looking for a 150-200 USD 24‘‘ gaming monitor (1920x 1080) by LG or Asus. I thought of the LG Electronics Flatron IPS235P or the Asus VE248H. Thoughts, other suggestions?

My build:

AMD FX-8350
FD8350FRHKBOX

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
RR-212E-16PK-R1

Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0
90-MIBJJ0-G0EAY0MZ

Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX

Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT
11199-20-20G

Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM
ST500DM002

LG Electronics GH24NS95
GH24NS95.AUAR

BitFenix Shinobi ATX Mid Tower Case
BFC-SNB-150-KKN1-RP

be quiet! System Power 7 600W ATX 2.31

Thx for your help!

yeah get a better power supply. something by seasonic, pc power and cooling or xfx. the one you have is highly suspect in quality and you risk damaging your whole rig.

as for GPU's i am partial to nvidia but both GPU's are good. don't wait for volcanic islands....there is always something better coming and something to keep you waiting. just buy the best you can at the time your buying ;)

Thx for your reply! What source do you have for the quality issues of the power supply by be quiet!? I know that be quiet! is a well known (at least in Central Europe) power supply and cooling manufacturer of good reputation based in Germany.

my mistake i misread you PSU, i apologize. Be quiet! is a decent supply though i would still go with something by seasonic as i have found their PSUs to be the best. your PSU is the heart of your system so while the be quiet is a decent mid range supply i would rather have and excellent one. that's just me though. i rather skimp on another component if i have too. I have seen too many decent/good PSU's kill entire rigs or shorten there life span.
