i have a Thompson Speedtouch 585V6 connected to internet in the ground floor and a zyxel g2000 working as AP in first floor, don't have a wired connection to basement so i wanted to use a tplink WA801ND as a repeater for speedtouch signal in the basement , after configuring and all is OK all my devices insist to connect to speedtouch weak signal instead of tp-link it's driving me crazy i couldn't figure it out , anybody has a solution ??

when checking using inSSIDer 3 it shows 2 networks with same SSID but i am connected to the weak one (speedtouch)

i don't think that is the problem cuz i don't have an option to change the SSID in repeater mode

I just had a look at the install guide for the tplink WA801ND. It appears that in Repeater(Range Extender) mode that you use the same SSID for both.
I would try "Multi-SSID" mode next.
If that does not work try the WDS Repeater. This is the second choice in the Repeater(Range Extender) mode. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is but it may be a function that is supported by your zyxel router.
