Question concering useing a covered pcix1 slot

Ok i want o put to gtx titans in my computer being cooled by xs-pc waterblocks, will this allow me to use a pci express x1 port that would be coverd be the stock cooler

Probably not, some boards have the ports further apart, but for the most part it will get in the way. The waterblocks still add thickness to the cards the only way to use both, would be with no cooler, and that obviously wont work.

Well couldnt i use a riser and or a ribbon cable to relocate the card into a bracket lower than the motherboard

You could, but its not recommended, if you have to a ribbon cable mounting to a different place would be the best bet if you had to. But the best option is the physical slot.

Sadly that option wouldnt be available, what are the drawbacks of using a ribbon cable

Its simply a longer data path which can slow it down, also it can be a bit more temperamental, if you can keep it stable it wont be that much of an issue.
