im ordering an alienware laptop and its either a 17 with a single 780m and 16gb ram or an 18 with a 770m sli and 8gb ram for only $100 more. would the 18 be worth the extra money or should i save a hundred dollars with the 17? its main use will be gaming and whatever software an engineering major will need to deal with (im still a freshman)

on a side note, have any of you ordered from computer upgrade king? are they reliable?

in all benchmarks, the 770 sli whips the GTX TITAN nevermind the 780. however, i would go for the one with the 780 because most games are not designed to run with sli and thay can cause stuttering ussues and other annoying problems. also, the 780 one has 16 gb of ram, making it more future proof.

a general rule for gpu buying is this: buy the very best single card you can at the moment, and then sli down the road when you have money(although that won't be possible on a laptop.) the moral is... get the 780

its not that i dont have the money for an 18 with 780m sli, its this is $1000+ cheaper. but im leaning towards the single 780m. but i though with alienwares you could actually add/upgrade a gpu because something like MXM or something like that? im not very tech savvy yet, im just taking an interest in computers as of like two weeks ago.

I would say the 770m sli this other guy thought u were talking about desktop graphics cards the 770m sli does not have anything on a titan with it u will get around 60fps on battlefield 4 on ultra with the 780m u will get 40fps

indeed i was confused. however, the 770m will still give significantly more performance than a 780m so if you want the absolute best performance possible, go for that. however, it will run a bit hotter, and therefore louder.i would still personally go for the 780m as it is cheaper and will run slightly more stable.
