M5A99X , SLI question about PCI-E

Howdy,

I have Q, I Have M5A99X Evo r2, And I have 2 GTX 470 in SLI mode,
On one of the GTX is Arctic Accelero Extreme 2, and on the other one is a stock cooler, I am thinking about getting the other Arctic Accelero Extreme too but my question is Am I able to run SLI if first GPU will be in first PCI-E slot and the second will be in the Third PCI-E slot ?

I need a space between them otherwise they get extremely hot.

I think so, after looking at your board it shows the 3rd x16 slot as 2.0 x4. I think cards will work in 2.0 x4, but if it will work, not sure. If you have 2 cards then plug one into it and test it.
