So I purchased the Asus VS239H-P, hooked it up and after about 20 minutes of use, a purple dot started to show up. Only one and its only noticeable when playing games or dark colors behind where the dot is. I read that is might have something to do with magnetic things around it, so I took everything away and turned off the monitor for a couple minutes, I tried a soft cloth, and switching from HDMI to VGA. Before I had it setup where it was the monitor + 32" LG TV that I was using prior so I had a dual setup, temporary. So any ideas how I can get rid of it myself or do I have to somehow send it back?

P.S. I bought it from Amazon, do I send the monitor to Asus or back to Amazon where it came from?

Update: Yeah I called Asus Tech Support, and I already did what he suggested to fix it. It's already at UPS and now I won't have my new monitor until the end of September... So what all can cause the screen to mess up? (Magnetically) I have 2 speakers and a sub, a 32" TV that will eventually get moved, and some other little things I keep on my desk. Just so I prevent anything from happening on my new one that comes.

Sounds like a stuck pixel. I've had many of those, most of which cannot be fixed. You can try massaging the area with a soft cloth, or you can try running a stuck pixel fixer test on youtube. I would say 90% cannot be fixed. If you purchased from Amazon, you can send it back through Amazon. You can almost send anything back to Amazon within a month. I've done it many times. Best of luck.
