Hello! I came back from my classes to find my computer not wanting to turn on. I have no idea what the issue is at the moment. My computer parts are:

AMD Phenom 6 core 3.0GHz (don't know exact model number)
PNY GTX 550 TI 1GB VRAM
16GB DDR3 RAM
500W PSU
Two 1TB 7200RPM hard drives

When I plug in the computer a couple lights will turn on on the mother board. However when I push the power button none of the fans start turning and the computer does not start up. The past couple months my computer has been overheating every now and then, however that only occurred when I was playing a game on max settings. I was told there is a good chance that the PSU is shot, but I have no idea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

Since when you plug it in and press the power button I am suspecting the PSU or the motherboard .

First, open the box and look for busted or leaking capacitor on the mobo.
Second thing I would do is test another power supply if it works.
If not, it could be the onboard battery that is empty and thus computer not starting. But that's a long shot but not impossible.
