yeah...i know.
but i have a 10 year old pc still running and i'm answering through it right now! i wanna know exactly what the problem is cuz i've been strugling with it for loooong!
it does post and -get this- temperature is regular!!!!up to 35C!so what tells cpu fan to run like hell at a moment and it wont stop for a few minutes, with new cooler it stands longer.i think its a virus...or m/b is dying or cpu but in that case i would expect blue screen (didnt have any so far)!if there was any i would search for the error like a maniac to figure it out.. :sigh:

cpu fan options are locked.i checked the temps with hw monitor as well, so im pretty sure about it.
also i noticed in bios i stopped the other 3 fans (not cpu fan) waited and pc froze at 51C, fan was speeding at 2000!when the problem occurs and the noise starts the fan is spinning at 1857,the sound is like a car is drifting!
i did clr cmos and took off the battery.
maybe its relevant maybe not but some times there were no display, so i changed the graphics card (i had nvidia geforce 6600 gt with just 2dvi-d) to an older one conncected to vga.
