Hey all, I have a new build: i7 3770K, Asrock Z77 Extreme 3 Mobo, 760 GTX, 8GB DDR3, 750W PS. Windows 8

My computer likes to freeze when I run multiple programs and the same time or when I try to run WoW alone it likes to freeze.

When it freezes, I see everything on my screen like its a screenshot, no noise, CTRL ALT DLT doesnt do anything, mouse doesnt work. Forcing me to shut off my computer and restart it.

It will run fine when I play Splinter Cell: Blacklist which is a 32 bit program.

I have been at this since I put my build together and I dont know what to do, any help will be greatful.

I did notice my disc usage likes to be around 85% to 100%. I do not have many programs on my 1TB HDD which I wiped and reused to install Windows 8 on. Can this be related? I am new to PC building and not sure where to go anymore.

There are some additional details you can provide that might help track this down:
1. The exact model of your power supply.
2. The brand and model of your memory.
3. What kind of case do you have this in?
4. Are you overclocking? If so, did you remember to get an aftermarket power supply and run stress tests? (if you're not overclocking, I would wonder why you bought a k-series processor and a z-series motherboard)

My Power supply is an OCZ ZT Series 750W.
I have Corsair Vengeance Low Profile. Two 4Gig sticks.
I have a Corsair 500R Case.
I am not overclocking this just yet. I do have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo waiting to be installed.

I did monitor my PC with HWMonitor but am still figuring out how I can link it here if needed.
I also noticed there is an update for my BIOS. I have 1.1 and there is a 1.5 available.
My Trend Micro is blocking the BIOS file and deleting it so I am not sure if it is a safe thing to do yet?

well i can suggest u some simple things which my laptop does
1 - keep minimum icons in your desktop screen.
2 - only keep the things which u use more frequently and uninstall other.
3 - make sure that u r using the drivers which are in perfect update condition
4 - and the main point is to check the virus and i suggest u 'avast primer'

i hope that the above things will be silly for u but
this little things can change your PC up to some extent...

I have 5 Icons on my desktop including the Recycle Bin. I can reduce that.
I probably have 4 programs installed so far since my new OS intall with my build.
I am using a new BETA driver for my video card. I can try to uninstall that if you feel like that can be the cause of it.
I installed my Antivirus through a disc right after my OS installation with the internet disconnected so I feel pretty confident that shouldnt be the problem.

My computer will freeze when I run a few things at once. And I noticed I am not able to evaluate my computers performance. It would freeze my computer shortly after starting the process. I usually have trouble playing World of Warcraft. I cannot run WoW, Skype, and Youtube at once or my computer would freeze forcing me to restart. The programs I have installed on my computer are: HWMonitor, Google Chrome, Uplay, SC: Blacklist, Trend Micro, Skype, GeForce Drivers, Intel HD Graphics Driver, Microsoft Visual C++.

Why would I want to uninstall a driver for my video card? I will uninstall the beta driver but dont I need the other drivers to run the card at its best?

Sorry for the long reply but I gouged my MB when trying to install my Hyper 212 Evo. And it took a local guy 3 weeks to solder it up again.

Anyway I did uninstall that Intel HD Driver and Im still having the same problem.

When Installing my RAM I noticed my PC would not start up if I have my ram in slots 1-3 or 2-4. I have them in slots 1-2 and my PC starts and runs now. Im not sure why of this, any suggestions?

Your issue most likely has to do with a driver or a virus.
I have the same exact video card and I have the same issue.
-do you get pop-ups on google chrome?
- update all your drivers, if you get no pop ups
- update shockwave or go into google chrome and type

About:plugins

Then check if you have multiple shockwave programs installed.
If you have more than 1, deselect them until you have only 1 left. Use this website for a better tutorial http://www.howtogeek.com/103292/how-to-fix-shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/
