A while ago,I had the idea of making a community where you can video-list,or video-sell,as I like to say, your used(or not) items.
Selling your house through a video is easy now,you can give virtual tours.
Or selling your car, your shoes or your phone.
Doesn´t really matter what you sell.
The video-sales are the future of marketing and we all know that.
But what I am still trying to do,is building a community for individual video-sales,a place where individuals can list their items at zero costs.
I had the idea so I thought I should reach Google.
So I did.
Man,were they happy I´ve called.
We talked about it,they thought it´s a really good idea and it might just work,on their favor(imagine buying a used phone when a corporate ad pops-in showing you killer deals for brand new ones).
I´ve talked to Google Spain, since this is where I live(but I am actually from Romania).
They said I should except a call from the U.S. department about all of this.
So i did...
But no one called.
So I emailed them again, and again...
No answer.
Now I am seeing a brand new feature Youtube offers, some ads running 24H a day on Youtube,in the spanish version, talking about corporate video-sales in a community...just my idea, but corporate this time.
I was shocked to listen to the 1 million views video saying the exact same words I emailed in my project details and exposure.
I feel really offended.
I am still using my website on my own, just as a proof that I was first here and they were really rude by not even asking me a second opinion on using my idea.
If you guys want to have a look, this is the BETA VERSION:
www.thebigvideosale.com
What do you guys make of this?
Is Google a bunch of jerks or what?
Cheers mates.

a couple of points:
1. yes, google probably stole your idea..., or they stole someone elses, or someone else WITHIN google came up with the idea independently, filed for it to be heard, and your call BROUGHT THE IDEA TO THE ATTENTION OF MANAGERS... any number of possibilities is possible
2. if google indeed stole your idea, it would not be the first tome a large international corporation did so... neither would it be the last by current trends
3. while I'm terrible sorry to hear this story (as well as many others roaming around the internet). the general rule of thumb is to never discuss an idea with representatives of a profit seeking (or otherwise) organization without filing for intellectual property, some sort of report of invention, or having some sort of NDA (preferably witnessed), signed, or at least acknowledged first. I've always done this personally. and while it may take longer, it leads to much less frustration. after all, some might say "ideas are free"
P.S. it seems like you already have a somewhat established record of your idea via your website. which is published. I think the most likely situation is that Google already had some sort of budding project similar to your idea, maybe officially dated earlier than your website (their lawyers would check this). and your website has prompted them to market their website to beat out yours...

I guess I should of done that.
Kind of late now.
I know they stole or borrowed my idea, whatever you want to call it,because the project´s exposure words, the words I used when I talked to them, are the exact same words the narrator of the corporate sales space on Youtube uses and talks about.
Well,as I said,I´m keeping my website(although it sucks,I don´t have Google´s money to invest, heck,I´ve only invested 50€ in thebigvideosale.com so far) just as a proof that someone thought of this before them and that someone reached them, looking for collaboration and all he found(although I use WE,I am a solo person managing all of this) is corruption.
Cheers mate and thanks for your support.
You could always share of +1 my website.
It´s free and it gives me a great support.
After all,it´s people what really matters in business, you´re nothing without them.

Well, you see,Google was here WAY BEFORE ME.
The corporate ads are here since years back.(I´ve registered my idea of individual video-sales in 2012,a year ago or so)
So you can say it was me who copied them in a way.
But I didn´t call Google about the corporate side of the video-sales,I´ve reached them about the individual side of the video-sales.
And now it seems that my call is rushing them into building their own 2 versions:
1.The one they already owned, the corporate one
2.The one I talked to them about, the individual one,the one I came up with.

yes, this unfortunately happens far too often to start ups... before long you may even get a cease and decease letter from a google lawyer. I agree that you should keep your website up and I love what you've done with it. but I'd advise you to get your paperwork in order so Google, or any other company, can't further hurt what you've done so far.

I´m one of those persons who have a really bad opinion on themselves, but yeah, thinking that this whole thing´s made by one person it doesn´t look that bad after all.
Really, thanks for cheering me up.
I just hope someday, someone will find interest of what´s inside my head, so I can get the develpoment tools that I need to lauch this worldwide.
