ATX12v PSU Guide doesn't mention be quiet

That list is very outdated and no longer relevant. many of the lines listed are no longer made by the original OEMs. PC P&C hasn't even existed for about 6-7 years (bought by OCZ who now sells OCZ units under that name). Corsair HX is listed as tier 2, despite most getting 10.0 jonnyguru performance ratings and better ripple / voltage stability than the AX series....and its at same level as VX and TX....however over generalization is also rampant in that the HX 850 for example gets 10.0 performance ratings whereas the 1000 and 1050 get 8.5 and 9.0

Not to belittle the effort but when there's multiple units within a brand line and they are each made by 2 or 3 different OEMs, generalizations saying these are all good and these are all bad are impossible.

Thanks for the links. It seems that if you want quality, you have to drop the "value for money" rating out of the equation as this seems to drag the rating right down.Where on earth do you get cheap quality? Whats next , Lamborghini s made in China with a high rating, lmao yeah so quality should not be penalized by dropping the rating.
IMO Value for money should only be in the equation if it is for a budget shoppers guide
Platinum be-quiet PSU it is, for the simple reason its supplying the best power of them all and that's all we are wanting, isn't it?.

its abit like having a V8 pickup, you never use all that power but it is there when and if needed.

Efficiency is not an indication of quality. It's how clean the power is, ripple and voltage regulation. You can find cheap good quality psus. Getting the best value is important for any budget. You wouldn't spend $4k when $3k gets you the same performance without sacrificing quality. A lot of parts are overpriced without any gain.

Your post is unclear about what rating you are talking about.

Yip totally agree with you , If you want a top quality power supply you have to pay, so why say its expensive compared to the rest in the test, and mark it down for value for money. That's the definition of stupid. Use the term Value for Quality.
It's like saying Mt Everest is taller than the rest so we will mark it down. If it's out of your reach dont try to climb it but DON'T criticize it because of it
and the reference to the Rating is to the reviews conclusions, Value for Money, Looks, (dont get me started on "Looks" :pt1cable:) Build Quality etc

Looks like I'm definitely getting the "be quiet" Platinum after watching a few more reviews
Only problem all that money for a beautiful part of my build just wants to sit at the back of the case in the DARK BEING QUIET ... sorry typo being quiet

May I know why you find my guide a good one ?
Also my guide is targeted for users around the world , although most listed brands are available in the USA or European countries.
That guide missed a lot of good PSUs. Its 4yrs old. The OEMs change by the time. Some series go discontinued. Some received successors. Some are not even as good as the list says.
