Installed liquid cooler, machine refuses to turn on at all

So recently the thermal paste on my processor went and I had to replace it and the cooling fan I was using--earlier it had been undergoing heat spikes with simple operations, like using a web browser, and before that I was having monitor issues, where using only one monitor would cause the computer to eventually act as if it disconnected, while everything works fine if there's two monitors connected. Me and my cousin installed a Cooler Master Seidon 120m liquid cooler onto a Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 motherboard and Intel i5 2300 processor. We then plugged everything back in on the motherboard where it's supposed to.

And the whole machine refuses to turn on. I've checked, double-checked, and triple-checked to make sure everything is plugged into the motherboard properly. I've plugged the computer into different outlets and tried turning it on both sides of the power supply's on/off switch. I've made sure all of the other connections aren't loose. And regardless it won't turn on whatsoever. I'm at a loss as to how to find out what's wrong or figure out how to fix it. Regardless, if a part is suddenly damaged, I'm stuck because I cannot afford to replace any part in the machine.

I just tried it. When it's unplugged from the motherboard and has the paper clip in, it turns on and powers everything else. Plugged into the motherboard, it won't turn on.

Now, when we were trying to remove the motherboard to put the back casing for the cooler on, we attempted to disconnect the pin set and could not because it was in so tight. I tried to plug it in tight after the paper clip test, but I'm still having no success.

I tried. It's on as well as I can get it, so the point where I took out the motherboard again to have better leverage when pushing the connector in. It still won't turn on.
