I have the Gig 880MA-UD2H and so far it has trashed 5, yes 5 hard drives. Someone suggested a firmware fix but where would I get that. I can't find it here or at gigabyte. Can anyone help me please.

Thank you one and all. After 30 years of being in the sciences I get caught on something a easy as this. I will admit that I had considered a new GPU but sloughed it off because 550W should be more than enough. WRONG! How's that song go?
You were right
You were right all along
You were right
and I was wrong

It was indeed the GPU. Got a mid range one (as it's an older computer "my wifes") , cost me around $120.00 but man oh man, everything flew after that. And, yes, there is another and.... Those 5 blown Hard drives...... every one of them, except for one, took off like jet fighters on a mission. I now have 2- 1TB's, 1 - 2TB's and 1 3TB drives at my disposal.

I now stand and bow to you all. I Thank You!

A short story years ago with a older athlon system ran perfect for me but I wanted to upgrade All I did with this system was surf the web and read alot and learn alot and play mild games. I mean mild nothing like todays or the last 5 years ago we are talking about before the ghz cpu.. Well A new chip came out think it was like 1 ghz or maybe 1.2 well I sold that system to my bro in law and he had all kinds of problems could never figure it out replace board, ram ,sound card hard drive and so on so forth what it bolied down to he try would to play diablo and star craft for hours on end like 8 plus hours in the end after the few bucks I spent trying to figure out why the system would crashed and reboot we figured out the power supply was just fine for doing simple tasks as web email ect but when taxed.... Like games and such it would go crazy long story short it worked fine for me not him and still works today with a good power supply.... Something to think about and say hmmmm???

To be honest with you I NEVER LOST A DRIVE DUE TO THAT ONLY A OLDER WESTERN DIG DRIVE THAT WAS BRAND NEW BACK IN THE DAY WAS 27.3 GIG kept dying on me they replaced it with a like 30 ish drive problems went away but back in the day that was like almost 250 or more from best b.....

He don't say how they died? went on fire, corrupt data, noises, motor stopped, all the same way, same time (raid), same brand?. The psu suggestion is as good as any. Might be needed.
;)

Yep without more imput as a movie would say we are at a stand still lol who knows a barbq may have fried them but I offer as much help as possible as all of us do on toms! 5 drives seems excessive anyhow something not right with that rig anyhow.

Well, after I put on win 7 64 Bit everything looks good. Give it from 5 minutes to a day and the computer starts to freeze. The when you try to reboot, it won'y open windows. Sometimes all you get is that stupid pulsating windows icon and it never gets by it. Other times it requires you to check the ram. Other times it just hangs when it comes to "Loading operating system" or something like that. Over a bit of time, it will freeze completely and there is nothing you can do. Henceforth.... One dead drive X 5
