Hello i am new here.. One day, my laptop just crashed and i went to a store that installs laptop. It turns out that the hardware was really bad so he replaced my hardware to a new one. He offered to install window 7 on my laptop for 50 bucks plus labor. Obviously that is a rip off so i thought that i could fix it myself somehow. I thought wrong. When i got home, i tried to turn it on but i keep on getting the message, Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. i did press F12 but i was not able to boot. HELPPPPP. Is there a way i can get in my laptop without buying a CD? because my laptop doesn't have a cd drive. Help would be appreciated. THANKS!

Few thing,if te old drive is good but has a damaged files. On the old drive on most laptops is the restore partion and factory image. If you have the old drive install it try hitting the f key to try and restore the laptop. Your old data will be wiped. You lose your personal files. The next two steps are contacting the laptop vendor for a restore cd and using a USB stick or USB cd rom drive to restore the laptop. Digital river has windows ISo images that you can download and use the Microsoft USB to Iso tool. The issue is you not have the vendor image and your laptop windows license may not work.
