Hi,
So I'm having a lot of trouble with installing a Graphics Card on my new computer. The computer is a Packard Bell iMedia L4875.
CPU and Memory:

Intel Core i3 dual core 3240.
Processor speed 3.4GHz.
8GB RAM.

Hard drive:
1000GB SATA hard drive.

DVD optical drives:
DVD R/W

Graphics:
Intergrated Intel HD Graphics

Interfaces and connectivity:
6 x USB 2.0 ports.
Ethernet port.
1 HDMI port.
Bluetooth.
Wireless/WiFi enabled.

Operating system & software:
Microsoft Windows 8.

It has the PCI-E slot I need for the graphics card but when I installed it, plugged everything in and turned it on the monitor was just blank, no picture was coming through. The graphics card was an ASUS GeForce GT 610. The odd thing was it was still stopping the motherboards VGA from working when I tried to get a picture from there with the card still in.

I tried to find the issue but there was nothing wrong motherboard wise (I think). I'm starting to think that it's a problem with the monitor, because it was a cheap Digihome TV I bought from Amazon for a little over £100.

Help would be greatly appreciated as I've already spent a full day trying to figure out what's up with it.

most likely you'll have to go into the bios, and change the Graphics from your onboard to the PCIe card. Save, exit, and you should be good to go.

have you got another discrete GPU you could test just to be sure. Could be your new GPU is broken, but the only real way to know would be to put in a card you KNOW works fine, test it, and you can take it from there.

It's odd that you can't get into bios whilst the discrete card is plugged in!

Sorry for the late reply. Since built a new PC with the graphics card so I know that it is working. I think there might be a physical jumper to get it from onboard to dedicated graphics card. Having trouble finding a manual for it though.
