Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC WindForce 3X 2GB DDR5 256-bit VS Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC WindForce 3X 4GB DDR5 256-bit

I am buying myself a new gaming computer, and these 2 video cards look very appealing to me.
I can buy a 23" display with the 2gb version or a 21" display with the 4gb version. Is it worth to buy a 4gb video card for a 21" display? Is the graphic performance much higher on the 4gb video card?

The size of the monitor is not as important as it's resolution. Since the 21" is probably not 1080p (1920x1080), the 4GB card would be pretty overkill. The 23" along with the 2GB card is your best bet. The graphics performance between the 2 cards will be identical. Hope this helps! Here are some graphs to show you difference between 2GB and 4GB, or lack there of haha:

  2. Both displays have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 , but i get your point, thanks for the quick reply.

    No problem!
  4. As I stated to another guy, in another post. Vram does matter, even at 1080p. AA, AF, and especially in BF games, the AO at ultra settings takes a hit with less vram. Not to mention in other titles that are physx intensive. If you enjoy playing at lower settings, than the vram wont be as important to you for most likely a good 8 months to a year seeing as how game coding and gpu usage is trending currently. However, like I told the other guy, spend the few extra bucks and future proof yourself. Not to mention, the amount of cuda cores in the 770 even at 2gb of vram, and the current pricing of it on amazon, it's a no brainer to even atleast get the 2gb model over a 760. Though if you are willing to do that, save even a few more bucks, and get the pny or gigabyte 770 4gb, you won't be dissapointed. The difference even with just the extra cuda cores, is night and day, not to mention the extra vram to buffer the amount of informations is in each pixel as you raise AA, AF, AO, and physx in games.
