You should look at THIS post and follow the links -- it discusses the cheapest and best adapter around at present for your purposes, the IBM M1015, which is quite a bit less expensive than the equivalent branded LSI card. Just insure that it will work with your motherboard and that you get two of the correct cable like THIS if .5m length is enough for your box.

Yes I am. If something like this exists then this is what I need. I am only interested in connecting my HDDs with the system and not for the RAID.
