Do I Use 20 of 24 pins for the PSU?

So I've looked around the forums and couldn't quite seem to find the answer I was looking for.... Anyway, I bought a PC with a rather weak PSU, so I decided to replace it, the original PSU had a 20 pin connector plugged into a 24 pin slot.

My question is, should I plug in all 24 pins in or should leave it with just a 20 pin connected? Would the extra 4 help or harm the mobo?

If it has a 24 pin female connector then it was designed to use a PSU with 24 pins, there should be no damage from using the 24 pin connector. Most likely what happened is that seeing as this was a prebuilt computer they went with bare minimum parts to make the machine work.
