Hi guys. I just built my first computer last week. I had no problems until today. I walked away for about 15 minutes and came back to find my computer off. When I attempted to turn it back on it wouldn't go. Tried different power outlets wouldn't work. Tried turning it on from the motherboard and nothing. Eventually I got it to come on. I think it might be because I moved my wires around but I'm not sure. I haven't tied them down yet because I have something else I need to add still. In any case they are all tucked away behind all my hardware. My computer wasn't being stressed at all. Also when I got it to turn on finally I got this

Your computer can't come out of hibernation

Status:0xc0000411

Info: a fatal error occurred processing the restoration data

File: /hiberfil.sys

Any insight into what caused this would be appreciated. I thought it might just be a loose connection until I booted and that window came up.

When Windows triggers hibernation, it sends the command to your BIOS, which powers the hibernation state. The BIOS holds the information on how or when to wake your PC from hibernation.

I believe there is a setting you have to set in the BIOS to properly wake up your PC if you are using hibernation. I believe it is called Sleep or Hibernation State. You have to set this to S3 for standby or S4 for Hibernation. This post explains it a bit better.

Also, make sure that USB is enabled to wake up your PC in your BIOS. It may not be set to enabled. Hope this helps.

Usually if you can't wake it from hibernation, there is usually a setting in the BIOS that has different options for power settings that I've had to change before. If you don't want to use hibernation, which I don't know many who use it, you can turn off hibernation if you don't want that to happen again.

1. Run Cmd as Administrator
2. Type in "powercfg.exe /hibernate off" without the quotes
3. This will disable hibernation

Also, you can disable sleep mode if you don't want that either, but that's easier and done through configuring power settings in control panel. Hope this helps.

Think I may have fixed. Was checking all my connections inside and my 20 pin was lose. Haven't had a problem since. If it happens again though I know what to change : ).
