Hi guys . I built my first computer last week. Currently I have it hooked up to my monitor through dvi. I'm trying to getting the hdmi to work though. Tried connecting it through my graphics card and my mother board and nothing. It is getting something though because when I switch to hdmi mode on my monitor it just gives black screen. However if the hdmi wasn't connected I would get no signal. Any help would be appreciated. Being as I just built it its drivers should be update. Although I'm new to this so I may have missed something.

Solution
Would you be able to return your video card or motherboard? to switch out for another brand? Like for a msi video card or motherboard? They both are great components but currently the evga bio's doesn't like the gigabyte bio's at all and currently nether manufacture has made a fix, I would say ether go and return the video card for a msi or gigabyte version or switch the motherboard for a msi or asus which I know will be compatible with that evga video card bio's Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard. Really sucks though if you need help picking out something to trade in that will be compatible let me know. I had the same problem with my last video card about a year ago but I've upgraded since

There have been several people complaining about it I would say maybe try and find a friend with a dvi monitor and see if that works, try to boot without the video card installed at all like a good video card to swap out for is the msi one or the msi gaming motherboard I have the msi motherboard works great with that card

My monitor works. I was trying to hook up through my hdmi so I'd have sound. It is connected through dvi right now. I suppose I'll have to get another cord though for that.

np, I would maybe recommend if you wanted a faster solution maybe buying like a $30 skull candy headset from target or walmart with maybe extension if you have your computer on the floor. Sound quality is really good even though those are cheap but I use them for casual use with my ipod they work great
