Cooler Master SIlent Pro Gold 1000w and Asus Sabertooth Z87

So I'm setting up my computer and I was about to plug in the EATX12v cable from my PSU into the one on my motherboard.

The thing is, if I use the 2x4 (8 pin) the sockets dont line up.

Can you use 1x4 pin or do you need all 8? Thanks

  1. All 8 should line up, make sure the plug is oriented correctly to the socket, should be a clip that goes over a protrusion on the 8 pin socket
  2. It should line up acc to ATX standards, but it would be better if you use a haswell certified PSU.

Cooler master said it is good to go for haswell....

It fits even though the connectors dont match up exactly. I installed it with the clips on top.

LOL, I haven't powered it on yet..... We will see what happens then.
  6. Can you post a pic of the connectors also make sure you are not using the PCIe power cables there.
