I bought a download of Microsoft Office 2007 (DVD-RW) from a reputable local (Jamaican) tech store. I tried to install it, it asked me to install with a publisher. I clicked on it but a pop-up came up, which said at the very top 'Can't Run'. The message said you have to be an administrator to run. When I clcked on OK, the message went away and nothing else happened. I'm logged in as the local admin though. I'm using an HP 2000 laptop, with Windows 8.

Sorry I would agree with the above. You should not have to run the installer as administrator for a Office install at least none of the versions I have ever installed.
First, thanx so much for the replies so far. I freely admit to being new to the computer game, seeing as this is my 1st one. What I've been seeing so far w/ my Windows 8 isn't out of the ordinary though. Whenever I downloaded something, 3/4 of the time it asked me if I wanted to use one of the corresponding apps in the Windows Store to run the programme/software. A few weeks ago, I had to change my hard drive so the apps Icould've used to possibly help me w/ this issue aren't on it. So there's no help for me?
