So after about 5-6 years my PSU is decaying. Whenever I open up a video game my comp just shuts off. Turned off error shutdown, check cpu and gpu temps (average 40c for both) and it still happens.

CPU: i5-3570k
8 gigs of 2033 RAM
The MB model escapes me but it was cheap, nothing special about it.
Graphics Card: MSI Radeon R7970 Lightning

My current PSU is 630watts and had to use 2x 6pin to 8pin adapters for the Graphics Card. Worked for a year but I think its began to decay. Thanks for the help guys.

SR-71 is correct; the Seasonic M12II 620W is a great PSU as well. However, as stated, both are made by Seasonic, so it's all good.

Would that wattage suffice? I wasnt sure even if my 630 was enough. I only ask because I bought SC2 and as soon as it went past menu it shut down lol

Look for amps on the 12 volt rails. anything over 35 amps should be good enough.

Yes. If planning for SLI, look for something around 55 or 60.
Thanks for pointing that out, egilbe.
