hi, my sea gate expansion portable drive is not recognizing in my computer (i'm using a imb thinkpad laptop and the os is windows xp and the drive holds 1.5tb) but it is in device manager and it was fully working before hand plus i have files on there that i do not want to delete by reformatting the drive someone please help me

Solution

Try it on another computer first to make sure it's working. If it is you might just need to delete the driver for it and have windows reinstall it. I had a similar issue before when I was alternating between a WD drive and a Seagate one, the drivers were conflicting with one another.
