EDIT: I have fixed this problem by changing Number of processors to maximum (4 for me) in MSConfig

Hello,

i have a problem that started 3 days ago. I have 2 , 2GB RAM modules which together make 4GB of RAM. What happened is that suddenly instead of using full 4GB it started using only 1.98GB. I have opened my PC and changed my RAM module places. It fixed it but not fully i still have 3.25GB RAM usable. These are pictures of Resource Monitor and System properties

I have this PC for a year now and it didnt have any problems close to this, i did change BIOS battery lately but it was 2 weeks ago. My motherboard is M5A78L-M LX.
I have tried MSConfig, i have turned on Maximum Memory but it would restart every time to 0 no matter what. I have checked the BIOS for anything about RAM but i didnt find anything.

Thank You in advance.

EDIT: I have GTS 450 with 1 GB Vram

Solution
It looks to me like the video card is reserving some of your memory. I would assume that when you changed the BIOS battery some if not all the of settings must have reset. I know you mention checking the BIOS but I would check again because it looks like your board may have an integrated video card.

Close all active programs and open the task manager (CNTRL-ALT-DEL). Click on the process tab and see what is loaded. It's likely that somehow your computer is loading some things at start up that you probably don't want.

i have Steam and Origin on. But im using them for a year now and they didnt do anything bad, so i dont think they are doing something.

Change it to disabled if you aren't using it.

go to the jumperfree config>internal graphics section> select whereever you have your GPU installed igfx is the integrated if you have your gpu installed on the first pci-e select the one with gfx0. underneath you can set uma frame buffer too. How much memory does you gpu have?

yes it does have integtrated graphics. And I believe your gpu also has 1gb of ram. in the bios go to jumperfree settings then internal graphics>primary graphics set it so gfx0 is first. underneath that uma buffer size set to 32MB or auto or less if you can, if its already set to auto try 32mb. and frame buffer location should already be set to above 4g with a 64bit windows system.

Thanks for any help you have give me. I have found a different solution. Because i changed BIOS battery my BIOS config was restarted. Instead of my PC using all 4 processor cores it was using only 1 i changed it to 4 in MSConfig and it worked.
Im not sure how processor is connected with ram LOL. I dont know how to mark this as solution or solved but all that matters is that it works fine now. I would never checked MSConfig fully if some of you didnt give me that idea.
