Hey guys, I have a creative soundcard, its one of the fatalty pro gamer ones/xtreme x-fi, had it for years, was working fine and now im getting no sound from anything.
Speakers are working fine.
The card is listed as working in device manager, however when I try and enter either windows sound management or creative audio control i get error messages, creative error says 'the audio device supported by this application is not detected.'
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for the help.

That is the wierdest thing! I just started my computer and the exact same thing happened to me this morning too! I have the regular Recon3D (little blue core) and the control panel says that there is not hardware detected and that something might be unplugged. I hope there is a fix for this soon.

I did try that, and then refreshed to find new hardware, and attempted to install the driver after windows located the device, but the installation said that no compatible devices were found... That was all I was able to test before I had to go to work. I will do more troubleshooting when I get home. Specs for my PC are in my sig if you need them. I hope a solution is found soon. :)

Is there any word on this yet? I'm possibly suspecting a Windows update may have caused it, but can't really be sure. If anyone has word on it, me and OP would appreciate it very much, thanks.
