Gigabyte Z77 MB keeps waking up on it's own

I have two PC's, each with a Gigabyte Z77 MB (D3H and UD4H), that refuse to sleep. running Win8 64 bit OEM, i3570K, Intel SSD, nothing else on one, an HD7870 on the other. One has a 7 year old Rosewill PS, the other has a new Corsair CX500M PS. Wake on Lan is off, and I can't find any other bios setting that might help. It sleeps for no more than 3 minutes, sometimes only 30 seconds. I'm running Malwarebytes and Avast AV (though this occurred before I loaded those), and have Windows auto update turned on, but no other SW I can think of that pings the internet. This happens even with no apparent app running. Any ideas what keeps waking my PC's up?

are you sharing folders? have you unplugged the LAN cable? unplug the mouse/keyboard? what is your definition of sleep? (screensaver, low power state, hibernate?)

you may have WOL off, but if your NIC isnt sleeping it may still recieve and respond to requests, like shared resorces. same thing can happen with USB devices.
one apon a time i had an old mouse that would "jitter" enough to wake my PC. well, turn off my screensaver.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try unplugging the Ethernet cable and then usb cables and see what happens - good troubleshooting suggestions. I don't share any folders that are on these PC's, but one of my PC's does mount a folder on a third PC as a drive (the other does not). I do have these PC's all seeing each other in a windows home network type arrangement. By sleep I mean the windows "sleep" function, one step above hibernate.
