Help hooking my PC up to TV

I have a Radeon 7850 card that has an HDMI port so I was wondering if just plugging my TV's HDMI cord into my graphics card and I'd be good to go? Also if this works would I be able to play my games on there with out it being harder on my system since its a bigger screen or would it be the same as using my monitor?

Ok now that I got it hooked up. When I play my game the game is real jittery. I never had a problem with it at all when I was hooked up to my monitor. What can I do to get that to stop?

Ok I got it going. Thanks for your help. It was jittery cause I guess my wireless mouse and keyboard can't go more then a foot or two away. Cause when I scooted closer it went away. Thanks again.
