Hi i got maybe six months ago or more a 0cz petrol ssd, as it was promised they were much faster than hdds.
So i bought a 64gb one as it was only going to run windows, i installed windows and all the software i use. This left me around 30gb of free space. fist time around I didnt know I had to disable this that and the other to stop the ssd from losing space, so it lost space and I had to start again putting windows back on when it failed to starup one day.
This time around I have followed guides online, on how to optimise my ssd. in the few months my machines been running, its lost 25gb after i did all the reccomended steps to not lose space.....anyone have any ideas what I can do, not so sure these ssds are as great as peaople seem to think.

hi I just wanted to say thanks very much for taking the time to help me out, it really is much appreciated.
removed windows update files, turned off hibernation, reduced page file downloads and such were already redirected,
and index was already on another drive. from the five gig I had left I manged through those actions, to claw back 11.4gb
but it still does not explain where the rest of the thirty gb has gone......could some of it be down to windows updates.......
and c drive has an option to compress it to save space, would tjhat be a good idea please.

hi thanks for the help, its appreciated a lot. been in to computer for twenty years or more, but I swear there getting more advanced and therefore more stubborn lol. the samsung magic does not really care much for the ocz petrol ssd, it only has a lot of options for its own drive, which is very useful, I wish the petrol had that kind of software....
