I am trying to build a system for HD video editing with Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and for web and software development. My choices are listed below. I have based my choices on the tutorials and reviews available on this site, which are terrific! I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance on this issue. Thank you very much!

Approximate Purchase Date: next week

Budget Range: $700 - $800 Before rebates; Before shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: high definition video editing, web site/software development, surfing the web

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: Entire new system

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: www.newegg.com

Location: Chicago, IL

Parts Preferences: none

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1280x1024 currently, but may be upgrading to higher resolution in the next year or so.

Additional Comments: This is the first time I have tried building my own computer, and unfortunately I do not have a lot of time to spend on this. So ease of assembly and high system reliability are more important to me than top performance. If it is not too difficult to set up, I was thinking of running two hard drives in RAID1 for better reliability. Thanks for the help.

Why Are You Upgrading: I am attempting to edit HD video using Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and burn to Blue Ray discs, but my current system is hopelessly slow. Hence the upgrade. My primary performance criteria is how fast Adobe Premiere Elements 10 will process video on the box.

Parts List:

CPU:
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX

Reason for choosing this CPU: I chose this AMD processer due to its excellent cost-weighted performance in this]http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2012/-34-Adobe-Premiere-Pro-CS6,3171.html]this benchmarking tests[/url]

Mother Board:
MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Graphics Card:
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card (11192-22-20G)

Memory:
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 - note that I am planning to install 2 of these (2 x 8GB)

Case:
RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEBP 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply

Storage
Seagate NAS HDD ST2000VN000 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive - note that I was thinking of getting 2 of these and run them in RAID 1.

Solution
The cheaper MSI AM3+ motherboards, such as that one, have weak VRMs that will pop under load. Choose a board from Asus or ASRock instead.
The Raidmax case includes a PSU-shaped object not fit for powering modern PC equipment. Since you are not getting a powerful video card, a 380W Antec Earthwatts or 360W Seasonic G360 will be suitable choices for your build.
If you have any thoughts about playing games, at the very least get a GDDR5 version of the graphics card; better yet a HD7750 (also GDDR5) will be a lot stronger yet not too much more expensive. This does not change my PSU recommendation.

Yes, I was planning on keeping the same RAM. Do you think that is OK?

Initially I was going to go with 2 x 8GB, and possible add more later if needed.
