I am a ps3 player who thinks that the processing and graphical power of the current and next gen consoles to be inadequate. Therefore as a newbie to building pcs, i need help to have a pc build thats worth the buck but also being able to have good performance. Recently i have been going through tons of pc building videos and trying to learn as much as possible to start building my own pc. I hope to play all genre of games, especially FPS/ action triple a titles like Call of duty, battlefield but also graphically amazing games like crysis 3. Currently i have a HP w1907 wide LCD monitor which has 1440x900, 32bit and 60Hz. I know that in FPS games, i can have an edge over other players by having a 100+Hz monitor but i am not thinking of upgrading my monitor just yet. Therefore i hope that all those helpful tech whizzs in the forums would suggest the most suitable build, as always i would like to thank everyone beforehand! :p

Initially i wanted to choose the gtx 660 but the 770 is just a little more expensive but offers more performance. People also told me that using the dual sli on 2 gtx 770s is faster than the titan and the 780 at a cheaper price. But still can you recommend me which model of the 770 is better, CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B or G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-8GXM or a even better ram. I also have mixed feelings about the psu after reading the feedbacks.

Don't think i will spend an extra 150 for that slight improvement, but im thinking of dual sli gtx 760s in the future. What cooling system would you recommend then??

''Can i replace the aftermarket cpu cooler to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ''

YES! why not

''Is that really better than ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150'' well... rog hero is built for gamer... but the asus z87-a is good too

But im really curious, will the change in mobo make a significant difference?

if you want to overclocking your hardwares ... is highly recommended to use a watercooling system because of the stress of the components and to prevent overheating , above all with two gpu ...

The ROG hero board is targeted towards overclockers and power users
its all about features... not realy the quality
