64 bit confusion.

So i obtained a copy of windows 7 ultimate that can install either the 32bit or 64 bit version. Now i am 90% sure i clicked 64 bit, but when i go into control panel system review it says "32-bit operating system" All drivers are installed from the provided discs, and my ram is 2x4gb corsair vengeance. What should I do??? (this was my first build)

hopefully you haven't done much else since the install, you'll have to re-install windows to switch to 64 bit

Put the install disk back in, restart the computer "press any key to boot from cd/dvd"...and you'll be started over

stick the disc on and when it asks, select delete the partitions in the advanced tab and have it start all over. Good experience installing an OS, regardless.

What are the options from the recovery console? Its been a while since I had to do this, but one of the options should take you to the right screen.

So all i get is "launch startup repair (recommended)" or "start windows normally"

choose repair then advanced recovery options

if you're getting that, then you're not booting from the DVD, you're booting from the HDD
