i need a new psu my current one is raidmax rs 500w since my new mb wont even boot up http://www.etccomputers.co.nz/shop/main/class.asp?cid=25&rote=2# thanks guys preferablly not the $220+

OK first off Raidmax is not a brand you want. However without knowing your system specs I can't recommend anything because I don't know what you need. Also none of the units on that list standout as something I would recommend.

So list your complete system specs. Is there anywhere else you can buy from? I understand you are in NZ and might have limited options but this list might help.

ok here my spec

i5 2500k
mb - ga p67a ud3 b3
ram -4gb gold series got a Z and 3 on it
gpu 9800gtx (from old pc) planning to get a hd 7950 in a few weeks
psu raidmax rs 500 (from old pc)

other store was just down the road so thought they would be good enough psu

A MUCH better selection there.

Some excellent ones.

Antec HCG 520.

Antec VP 550

Zippy HP2 500w

Antec NeoEco 520

XFX Core 550w ( Probably be my choice. All XFX units are made by Seasonic and Seasonic is the best, )

Any of those units are excellent. The XFX would be my personal choice but all of them are good.
