I have a radeon 7770 by msi that has an hdmi port and a dual dvi-i port. The monitor I have supports a vga cable (which is what i have and have used) and a dvi-d port. I need to get the gpu working with this monitor but I have no idea what cord/adapter I would need. I'd like to spend less than 15 if possible.

Thanks a ton in advance for any help

You can use a DVI-D cable or you can use a DVI to VGA adapter to continue using your VGA cable. You cannot use a DVI-I cable because it will not work on your monitor.

**EDIT ** If you just purchased or still have the box and equipment that your video card came in, usually those ship with those adapters.
