I just built a new pc with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Almost all applications that I install default to the program files (x86) folder, and the amount of games I've installed, at least some of them are bound to support 64 bit. Do I have to install to program files to get the 64 bit version? What if I install something that only supports 32 bit into program files (x86) on accident, hoping that it supports 64 bit? Steam and all of my steam games are in the x86 folder, is that bad?
In short, I just wanna know how to make sure I'm installing the best version of the software I use.
