Does anyone know if these memory modules
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

are compatible with the Hero board. I went to the Asus website and checked the latest PDF Memory Vendor Support page dated on 7/03/2013 and I couldn't find it on the supported vendor list. So does it mean it won't work as I need low profile ram preferably Corsair Vengeance memory to fit under my heatsink. Anyone have these on a Hero board that could verify they work.

They should work no problem. You could get better memory though for the price.

do you have this exact memory installed on a hero board to verify? And what other memory would you suggest I would like the memory to be low profile and be red if possible to match my black and red theme I got going on.

Hi,
According to Corsairs Memory finder for your Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard http://www2.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?sc=us&id=5887028

The memory will certainly work (even if that particular model is not listed) and more off, even lover cas latency and better timings 9-9-9-24 will work @1600MHZ and 1,5V For example CML16GX3M2A1600C9 http://www.corsair.com/en/vengeance-lp-memory-16gb-1600...

Either way, make sure that you after you install the memory, enter BIOS Setup, find the settings for the memory and activate the memory XMP profile. Save & Exit

The system will then use the memory's inbuilt XMP profile and it will run @1600MHz
How to enable XMP: http://www.corsair.com/blog/how-to-enable-xmp-performan...

Best Regards, from Sweden.
