OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND after formatting HDD on Sony VAIO vpceh.

Having erased the hdd using formatting software DBAN, i now get a message that reads OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND. i cannot get the laptop to boot up from the rescue discs and am now unable reinstall OS, the OS in question is win 7 home.can you please provide a solution to the dilemma , your help is much appreciated, thank you..

If you erase the entire drive with DBAN, yes...this is exactly what will happen.
Install fresh from new media.

If you erase the entire drive with DBAN, yes...this is exactly what will happen.
Install fresh from new media.


when you say nstall from new media, do you mean that the rescue discs are no good and that i will need to buy a new OS , and the pc will boot up from a new disc, thanks again for your help..

Assuming you have the activation key (should be printed on the bottom of the laptop), you can go here and download the relevant ISO.

Burn that to a disk, and install. It should work.
