Hi i recently just got a new gaming computer and i fear i may have done something in the redegit which i shouldn't have because now when i try to run or open anything it just says cannot find file .exe and it says this for EVERYTHING please help as it is brand new

You will need to try using your Windows 8 disk and boot into windows repair. From there you should be able to repair your installation of windows without losing your files.
