Hallo and good day to all members.

I am gonna give you an as detailed as i can review of my issue.

Here we go, about 3 weeks ago i builded up a new ring/my first personal rig that tower itself cost up 1800 euro.

While choosing graphic card i ended up to sapphire hd 7970 3gb dual-x.
The non oc version w/o boost or any vapor version etc.
Its just the "plain" one with the blue pcb.

My thoughs was that i dont need to get anything more expensive than that since i read it can be quite well oveclocked to really nice values.

In the early begining i failed to overclock it no matter how low using sapphire trixx and testing it to 3dmark 11 vantage.

The "solution" came when i used msi after burner. On settings i change to kernel version and enable core voltage control of my gpu.

I passed 3dmark11 at 1150 core/1600 mem and 1.250 vcore.
After that i found it still able to pass 3dmark11 at 1.212vcore (msi didnt locked to 1.210 i auto correct it to 1.212 for some reason)

I was at that speed for over 2 weeks and i started noticing some artifacts while playing leage of leagends but while playing splinter cell blacklist at 1080p everything on ultra the screen was super clean no artifacts at all with 71C my max gpu temp after 3 hours of gaming.

After a little research i found out that decreasing mem will probably get rid of artifacts and i lower it down to 1150core/1550 mem, still at 1.212v. Artifacts went away like 90%. Passed a day gaming w/o artifacts at all.

After installing remember me pc game i had a ton of artifaxcts. there i start getting disappointed.
dint found any oc that can still play remember me w/o artifacts.

How i get rid of artifacts:i open msi afterburner,i reset it to stock. i prevent it to open with windows etc. I reboot my pc. I open remember me(i still have artifacts) i go into settings, disable supersampling +antialiasing. i set all graphics to low,i play 3-4 mins. Artifacts go away.
I can now max out graphic quality and enable supersampling and antialiasing.

So my problem is that i cant overclock my 7970 and make it able to play games("remember me" failed since is unplayble with such artifacts).

What can i do about it?
can i install other hd 7970 or familiar bios? (i have read so things about it)
How my dual bios(gpu has a switch) actually works and how i can benefit from it?
overclock cant be done on my gpu?

Tnx you all in advance and really sry for that long tex but i would like to inform you for all the issues i got

Thank you, Good news, you are NOT voltage locked~https://www.sapphireforum.com/showthread.php?30929-Sapphire-Radeon-HD-7970-(11197-11-40G-blue-PCB)-voltage-locked

Need to check your ASCI quality % of your chip. RUN~http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
Right click @ the top title bar>>select read asic quality, in the drop down pop up box. What does it say?

Also if you can post gpuz screenshot, or if you give the device ID# I can tell which bois is faster A or B, or at least the difference.

BIOS switch A(1)= stock B(2)=boost

The Dual BIOS technology is designed around allowing users to choose a standard profile and a more aggressive profile with more performance. The first BIOS setting has core operating frequency set to 950MHz which is an increase of 25MHz from the reference design, and the memory's operating frequency set to 1425MHz which is an increase of 50MHz. The second BIOS profile has core operating frequency set to 1000MHz on the core which is an increase of 75MHz compared to the reference HD 7970 design, and 1450MHz on the memory which is a 75MHz increase.

73.3% is more good news as that is a Great OC number!

mine had a 63.2% and ran too hot

whats you reccomendatios so far then?
what i am doing right now is using ati setup to completely uninstall the driver and do a fresh reinstall. So does for trix. I am reading is importand to get rid of the old ones and then move to the latest, while i am sure i just update like 2 times since the first driver installation(the cd included) w/o uninstalling the previus.
So i switch bios or not?

If it helps i am on bios 2 as i see.
Also i used a thread to completely remove adm drivers deleteing manually a lot of folders and registry folders.
Doing fresh install of amd catalyst 13.10 on the link you mentioned above

Always to do a clean install of drivers= less trouble.
Only have one OC utility installed, uninstall the ones you do not use as they run in the background and cause conflicts and false data.
Trixx
MSI ab
Evga
zodiac

If you are running a OC with ATI OverDrive in the CCC amd catalyst, I would not run any other utility at the same time.
RivaTuner is the BEST and only one for me~http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/rivatuner.html

Plz someone any recomendation? Any ideas? Any personal experiance with this card or with familiar specs one? There is no way to be such a crappy one.

One more question
My mobo is z77x-ud3h which has dual bios. In order to change my gpu bios to 2 do i have to change my mobo bios to 2 too? If yes then i am loosing my cpu oc settings didnt i??
