APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within a month
BUDGET RANGE: USD 100-150$ (Mid-Range) (PSU upgrade not included)
USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Want to run Battlefield 4 on at least medium settings.
CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: AMD Radeon HD 7450, HP FH-XD301MYR-1 @ 300 W Max
OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: HP Pavilion bought a year ago, Intel Core i3-2120 @ 3.30 Ghz, 6 GB RAM
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Probably Newegg
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: I live in Canada
PARTS PREFERENCES: None
OVERCLOCKING/SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I bought this new computer after my old Pavilion failed and didn't bother keeping the GPU I had in it because this one had a (apparently) better one. Lo and behold, though I was still running Bad Company 2 on lowest settings, Starcraft II performance and quality improved dramatically. When I tried demos for a few newer games, such as Sleeping Dogs and XCOM: Enemy Unknown, however, I couldn't run them properly, even at lowest settings.
Now, it's possible that this is because my PSU doesn't reach the recommended wattage (300 vs 400). Nonetheless, I want to upgrade. After reading my articles all over the Internet, including Tom's Hardware's ''Best Graphics Cards For The Money'' for July, August and September, I believe a Radeon HD 7770 or 7790 will do the job. As for power supplies, I just want to get one with the highest price-performance at 500 W.
Bottom line, I'm only going to change my GPU and PSU if possible. Thanks for answering.

But the 7790 requires a minimum power supply of 500 W. Is that not a problem?

They always recommend more power than you actually need. 430w will be fine. You can always get the CX500 if you are worried about it.

Personally I would go with the Sapphire as they have a more established positive reputation and also that particular card has more reviews than the other.

Even though the XFX Pro is an excellent PSU, you don't need it if you're not planning on OC. The 400 or 430 watt Corsair is cheaper + more than enough for your build.
