Full PC Specs:

CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8Ghz/ 4.2Ghz (Stock Cooler)
GPU: IGP - AMD Radeon HD 7660D
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 500W Bronze rated PSU
MB: ASRock FM2A55-DGS
RAM: 8GB 1866Mhz DDR3
HDD: WD Blue 500GB
HDD: WD Green 1TB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Additional Fans: 1 Antec Case Fan

Now, my problem is, I recently bought the new game Total War: Rome II. I'm a fanatic of the series and I'm really looking forward to playing it. I installed it last night and tried to play it this morning on High settings but my PC kept freezing and I got 2 BSOD (physical memory dump). I ran speedfan and realized the CPU was bursting into flames at 70C-80C so I immediately undervolted the CPU from 1.35 to 1.275 V as well as cleaned the dust of the fans and such inside the PC. I tried to play again, this time at medium settings, I got a good 60 FPS but the CPU was still overheating and froze again. I've had this problem in the past with Planetside 2 and its quite annoying. Is there anyway I can get the APU to run cooler without buying an aftermarket cooler?

Thanks in advance

Solution
First off your CPU will not auto shut off until higher temps such as 90, 95 or 100 usually and when it does your computer will not freeze it will instantaneously shut off. Also, I would indeed get an aftermarket fan such as the 212 Hyper Evo and make sure you properly seat it level with the cpu with the paste applied evenly with a credit card or other flat surface.

If you do not wish to buy a new heatsink then I would recommend re-seating the existing heatsink and applying thermal paste if you have it.
