I have a p8p67 mobo with i5-2500k and currently has 2 x 2GB Kingston hyperX DDR3-1600 for RAM. I have in my possession 2 x 2GB G.Skill RAM, also DDR3-1600.

Figuring that both types of RAM high speed and are able to run at 1600, I went ahead and installed all 4 and played around with the BIOS to make slight adjustments to DRAM timings. With several re-tries the results were that the Mem OK! initiated (automatically, or by me in one iteration).

I do realize I am messing around with non-ideal compatibility, but has anyone succeeded in getting something similar to work? I would like to double my memory and I have the sticks so I figure I might as well try. There may be an issue with the Voltages, but is there a way to fix this or should I stop trying?

Any Suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Solution
the kingston limits options as they are 1.65 (don't understand why anybody makes 1600 1.65 sets :( ), anyway try the Kingstons in slots 1-3 and the others in 2-4, freq at 1600, 9-9-9-25, 2T, 1.65, and raise the VCCIO up to about 1.15
