Sorry man I read it a Kid not kd my bad. And your right unless there is going three monitors or 2560 x 1440 or something 770 is the best buy even a 760 would work well.

1) Killer build
2) Haf X is a popular case and well reviewed.
3) I would get around 650W or so for your PSU, maybe:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151106
If you're definitely gonna SLI a couple cards, more wattage would be better, maybe 700/750W or so to be safe...
4) You will be able play any game on ultra for quite a while with this build
5) Yes you can run multiple cards on that mobo.

Good luck! I'm a little jealous ;)

The HLF X is a sweet case as for your wattage go on to pcpartpicker.com and enter the parts you have chosen. Then if you are going to over clock add 100w to 150w or if you want to add an extra 780 (unless using a 2560 x 1440 or are going multi monitor not really needed) and are going to OC add 200w to 300w on top of what they recommend. All your parts should work make sure the mobo is PCI3.0 capable though as the 780's are PCI3.0 native I think though they will still run on a PCI2.0 mobo. And yes you will be able to run metro last light and BF4 with ease.

If you are building a Pc solely for gaming, then you are overspending. Most games don't perform better with a 4770k over a 4670k(there are exceptions), so save that 100 dollars. The 780 is a great card, but not worth 650 dollars. The motherboard is way too overpriced, and for gaming you don't need more than 8gb's of Ram.

True Sword Kid about the CPU but if you want to have your build last three or more years the 780 is a great card though the argument could be made for the 770 4Gb or a 760 sli config though that uses more power and introduces a few other problems. As for the RAM give it two to three years and a lot of games will be using 12Gb or more I think.

biggest flaw w this build is your cpu. no need for an i7 if this is going to be a gaming build as games dont really benefit from hyperthreading. save yourself some scratch(120usd) and go w an i5-3570K. Im a bigger fan of air cooling over water, but thats personal preference, you can take a look at top rated cpu coolers at this site-- http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm. The HAF X is a great case, good airflow, and can fit a small car in it, so theres plenty of room to upgrade to whatever later.

Well then lets just build with 8gb's now, and he can add 2 x 4gb's later to save money now. I'd stick with the standard 4670k, z87 motherboard, nVidia 770 and 8gb's of Ram. With the money he saves, he could actually afford a 2nd 770. I agree that he would be better off sticking with one video card right now though. Gaming at 1080p, there is no reason to get the 780 over a 770.

:edit: I hate Sword Kid!!!! LOL, kd are initials. Sorry, pet peeve.

If they need more ram in the future, the OP could just drop in another 8GB ram when that happens right?

I agree but the HAF X is one of the best cases out there only something like the COSMOS II can beat it and not by much so Yolo can put 3 or 4 builds in a HAF X. A good full tower than is E-ATX or XL-ATX is a good investment. I have had my full tower for 5 years and am only getting another as i cant fit a Rampage IV board in it

Oh yeah but With the money thats getting thrown around why not go for 12Gb or 16Gb and get the benefit. Even if its not the fastest off the shelf RAM can be over clocked.

Well, for now I'd save the money and just get 8gb's. Eventually we'll all need 16gb's, but by then I'd expect to be upgrading to a DDR4 system anyways. 12gb's isn't optimal since there aren't any current triple channel chipsets out now, and it wouldn't be worth using 3 slots out of 4 because you'd lose dual channel.

You think DDR4 will hit before we need 16Gb. I mean look at BF3, BF4 coming out the fact that both the Playstaion and Xbox come with 8Gb of ram. Ok slow RAM but still 8Gb in a dedicated system. Some of the newer titles use up to 8Gb and you still have to run the PC while your game is eating up most or all of your RAM. A good argument could be made PC gamers need to look at 16Gb as a must have on any new builds over the next 12 to 18 months.

Ok, but what is the disadvantage of just getting 8gb's of Ram now? And yes, I actually believe the next major system upgrade I make will be to use ddr4 since manufacturers are debuting DDR4 Ram samples now.

Also, the articles/forums I've read on BF3 memory usage states that it uses less than 4gb's of Ram total. Who knows what BF4 will use.

Nuts, my new build is going to use DDR3, I though BF3 could use up to 8Gb but then i have never played it. But if you look at the leap between BF2 and BF3 just a thought.

Not a bad kit, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra money. Almost twice as expensive. If you are interested in adding more components to the water cooling loop, then it's a great buy. But based solely off it's performance for cooling the Cpu, I wouldn't spend the extra money..
