possible upgrade options for my current system

my question is
i have a build your own pc from new egg a few years old.
it's a N61PC-M25 Mobo , AMD AThalon 64 x2 5200+ , and a gpu, Raedon HD 4650
and last but not least a PSU 450w

anyway been racking my brain for a week trying to find a better graphics card. (trying to find one that will support Direct x 11)
so that i can't continue to game unhindered. For the life of me on new egg , tiger direct i can't seem to find a better one maybe you guys can help me find a better suited graphics card or at least tell me my pc is as maxed as it can be

You should probably upgrade the PSU to about 600W to keep up with expanding systems/games. THe rest is up to you on what you want to do.

Your mobo doesn't really support anything too great so you should be safe with anything but you may need to upgrade your mobo to get something significantly better.

this may sound stupid but can i use a ddr3 gpu in my pc even though it only supports ddr2.
i recently heard something like that.

Could just buy a fm2 motheboard and a apu and upgrade your psu to a 500w 80+ bronze that way you will have a quad core processor and far better graphics then what you have now if you would be willing to spend about 300 bucks and you could get a ddr3 ram kit

that is def possibility in the future but my budget is much lower at this time, simply i just need a gpu upgrade not a huge one just one to get me at direct x 11

Well you are currently kinda bottle necked at because of your processor, Would something for like $200 be more in the ballpark?

yeah 200 is def a better option do i have to get another board or can i just upgrade the chip.
i am going to have to do piece by piece instead of a whole system upgrade just can't afford it lol but i like eatmypies ideas

i actually really like that build i wonder if it will fit in my case.

your socket atm is am3 or am3+ so you would need to get a new motherboard before you can buy the apu which isn't to much and then buy the ram and then you have the option to crossfire with a cheap card in the future. Actually the order I would buy it in is get like 120 bucks order the board and the ram. get 150 and order the apu

no hdmi support though that would be my only drawback. doing the whole hd card to 45 inch hd tv thing but i suppose if i upgraded my speakers i could just use dvi it's probably more stable

sadly you would need to get a better apu motherboard the one I linked only supports up to 1866

Yep np, the sniper series from g.skill are pretty good and I know they will work with the apu unlike some other 1866 kits
