I have a spare EVGA 660 SC and want to put it to use or sell it, I am content with my 7970 Ghz but am wondering if I sold it and got a second EVGA 660 SC would that pair in SLI outperform it?
I also recently started dabbling in dual monitor setup but for games I'll probably mostly only play on one. Please give your educated opinion as to which would perform better even if only marginally. I have linked the cards below, thank you in advance.

Hey thanks I appreciate your feedback! I'm still a bit on the fence as being a semi-broke college student I won't be getting another 7970 anytime soon, especially for as cheap as I got mine. But you make some great points with the bus speed, hmmm, perhaps I'll just stick to one. Gah, still a bit unsure.

for 1080p resolution gaming the dual 660's are probably more powerful, although i dont know if you would really notice the difference. You could probably OC the 7970 to get the same performance anyway. For higher than 1080p the extra vram on the 7970 will come in handy, and may prove more beneficial in the future as games have larger textures etc that chew up vram. I'd still stay away from dual AMD cards, despite some new driver fixes they still have plenty of issues. Maybe just sell the 660 you have and invest the money into something like water cooling.

Also a good point, I probably won't expand my gaming past 1080p and only use dual monitors for school work. I have an H60 but was looking to expand to a raystorm XSPC kit, quite tempting.
