Running an AMD card alongside an Nvidia card?

Hi All,

So pretty much what I'm trying to do is use a GTX 670 as the main card (for gaming) and use a Radeon HD 6670 alongside it to mine litecoins. Both cards are detected, drivers installed, and everything else is peachy keen. The problem i'm having is that the 6670 is not being detected by AMD VISION Engine Control Center. I've already done a bit of Google-Fu and tried a couple different possibilities but nothing has worked, which is why I'm asking here.

System Specs:
MB - ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE (Stock clock, voltages, etc)
RAM - 8GB DDR3 @ 1333
HDD - 500GB WD Blue
PSU - Corsair HX650W Semi-Modular
OS- Windows 7 Home Premium

I don't think the problem lies with the video card itself but somewhere within the software. Both cards are detected in device manager and there appear to be no problems (reported by Windows at least). I just finished re-installing Windows and all the various drivers (direct from ASUS site) so Windows along with the registry should be clean (at least I suspect it would be).

If anyone has any additional questions, please feel free to ask, I don't need to have both cards in the computer at the same time, I just figured it'd be better to have one computer with the 2 cards rather then having 2 different computers running..

Thanks!

Solution
I wouldn't recommend having 2 different company cards in 1 machine. Considering your MB is an AMD I'd just get a more expensive ATI card instead of 1 decent Nvidia and 1 okay ATI.

Yeah, you're right. I was told I should be able to do what I wanted to but it doesn't seem to be simple by any stretch of the imagination. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of money so I can't go out and get a high end AMD card, I think I prefer Nvidia for gaming over AMD anyhow. Once these Windows updates are done i'll be taking the AMD card out and just using the Nvidia card by itself. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and reply.
