Mouse Polling Rate Lagging Games?

I have a Thermaltake Theron mouse that I bought for $70, and for some reason, the polling rates are lagging my game. For example, Black Ops 2, I get into the game and I get about 100FPS+ easy. Once I start turning the mouse with 1000hz polling rates, it starts lagging like crazy. Unable to play. If I turn it all the way down to the lowest 125hz polling rate, I get much better performance with a drop around 50FPS. The thing is, I do NOT want it lagging at all when i'm playing. Why is it doing this and why is it only with this mouse? Hope I can get this understood.
