Hi, I am starting a build with an ASUS P5G41T-M_LX mobo with an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550 (12M Cache, 2.83 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB).

I need some advice on the minimum wattage PSU to get.

From what I read it seems the determining factor is going to be the GPU I put in, but I don't have on as yet, so some advice on which one to get would also be appreciated.

My other question is in regard to my OS which is XP professional is this a 32bit or a 64bit OS? from some research the motherboard will only accept 3GB max RAM for 32bit but 8GB max RAm for 64bit.

I would be grateful for any tips, hints and advice I can get.

Thanks...

I have a 256MB PCIe GF-7300-GS that is untested but I think it might have a blown cap on it that makes it u/s but I am looking at getting a 1GB GPU second hand for about $70 next weekend but I want to get the mobo running and tested before I buy anything apart from RAM and PSU, so I could just use on graphics for now.

I am not sure which XP pro 32 or 64 bit as the documents doesn't say and on system properties or system information but according to the manual for this computer I am running on at the moment it only runs 32 bit so logic says its 32bit. I do have a couple of linux O/S disks that I want to try but because I haven't used before so I don't know much about it.

Anyway my first priority is a PSU, I am guessing that 500-600W would be sufficient I just need to know if there are different connectors so I don't get the wrong one.
