Hello so i am overclocking my fx-4100 because it bottlenecks my gpu a gigabyte 7970.

So far i have been only raising the multiplier so i am at 4,1 ghz atm and it is stable i run occt for 30 mins each time to stress test it, I know you should always stress test for some hours to be 100% sure its stable in the long run but i think 30 min is good because if its unstable it most times gives error in the first 5-10 mins.

and yes i overclock from the bios, so when do i know when i should up the voltage? when the system freezes/ bluesreen or hangs or something like that i should up the voltage?

And by how much each time is it like 0,005mv each time? because i know if you put too much you can kill your cpu but im not sure how much you should add each time and what is the max safe voltage for the fx-4100?

Spec:
cpu: amd fx-4100
mobo: asus m5a99x evo
ram: kingston 16gb 1333 mhz 4x4 gb sticks
gpu: Gigabyte radeon HD 7970 oc 1000 mhz
storage: 120 gb ssd 60x2 ocz and 1tb normal hdd
cooler: antec kuhler 620
case: fractal design core 3000
psu: 730w thermaltake SP-730AH2NH

how do i know what is max safe voltage i should do? 4,2 ghz is the max stable clock i can have without raising voltage at 4,3 ghz it becomes unstable and occt gives me error
