This is the second time I have tried to install a secondary hard drive to my computer. The first time I gave up and blamed the hard drive. The motherboard is the MSI z87 GD65. My OS is on a Kingston 120 gb SSD and the secondary drives include an older agility ssd and a recently purchased Seagate hybrid drive. Anyways, both attempts i partitioned the drive only to see windows freeze immediately during the partition. Now when i try to cut my computer on windows 8 just hangs. I tried hot plugging the drive to see if I could try to use diskpart to fix my problem after the pc had already started. Diskpart also hangs. I can't even right click the new drive in my computer... It just freezes up. Tried loading disk management... same thing happened 20minute wait nothing happens stuck at loading disks. I am clueless as to what to do so any help would be appreciated. Hopefully i was descriptive enough

the intel ports, and there are no firmware updates, but i havent updated the bios yet. I may try it soon.
Quick update - Downloaded Seatools and Seagate DiscWizard. I got an error failure to load because of I/O error when trying to partition drive. I got errors in seatools also, the tests took literally forever and then failed. Smartcheck did pass however. also swapped drive over to asmedia port and got the same results.
